Jacqueline Goldfinger

Jacqueline Goldfinger (she/they) is a playwright, dramaturg and librettist. She’s best known for off-Broadway’s Backwards Forwards Back and The Arsonists. Her awards include the Yale Prize (Bottle Fly), Smith Prize (Babel), Opera America Discovery Award (Alice Tierney with Composer Melissa Dunphy), Best Music Video at Paris Short Film Festival (“Letter to Our Children” with Composer Justine F. Chen) and a Yaddo Residency. Her plays have been produced at theatres including The Kennedy Center (USA), Contemporary American Theatre Festival (USA), École nationale de théâtre (Canada) and Court Theatre (New Zealand). Her opera and choral libretti have been performed at Sydney Opera House (Australia), Chiesa di Ognissanti (Italy), Opera Columbus (USA), BBC Radio 3 (UK), Voces8 (UK), Chor Leoni (Canada), San Diego Opera/La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls Festival (USA), Oberlin Opera (USA) and others. Her poetry has been published in publications including American Poetry Review, Poetry Wales and the Beyond Queer Words Anthology. Her work has been developed at The National Theatre (UK), New Georges (USA), La MaMa (Italy/USA) and Disquiet (Portugal), among others.
